Websites How to get Visitors to your website.

When you think about a website, it costs about as much as having a pamphlet or brochure designed and printed.

Unlike the pamphlet, a website doesn’t run out after each delivery, so you don’t have to pay again and again to have it printed. It will be online for as long as you pay for hosting and domain registration. Website hosting and the price of domain registration shouldn’t cost more then $1200 per year.

All you have to do is pay someone to deliver it to the internet or Search Engines, which in turn gets visitors to your website, this someone is called an SEO, that’s what I do.

Sell your websiteYou can be like our gardener who tried various marketing methods and learned by trial and error…OR…you can hire a company that specialises in getting your website noticed and has the know how to keep cost at a minimum.

As with pamphlet delivery businesses, places that say they do SEO are a dime a dozen.

Many of these delivery techniques used by SEO companies don’t work, even though they sound very professional.

Some places will send out spam emails to millions of addresses, all over the world, that probably won’t get read or are sent to people that cannot use your services. What good is lawn job in Timbuktu…even if it is worth $500 a month?

Many other SEO businesses do things that will get your website doing well in search engines quickly and then a month later you can’t find it again (just a word of caution: almost anything done to change an established website will make it show top rankings within a week or two…and then drop down again…so don’t be too quick to think whatever was done has worked).

When I do SEO on a website, my goal is to get regular visitors, and the visitors that are actually looking for what you are offering, this requires a lot of research into what people actually search for.

A good SEO business will quote you for the initial service and then say that they suggest you take maintenance plan that costs a minimal amount, but is ongoing for at least a year, perhaps indefinitely, although costs should get less as time goes on.

For example: Canz SEO sets a maintenance plan for one year, taking into consideration that more work will be done in the earlier months and less as time goes on.

It defiantly does pay to keep a maintenance plan going; it will ensure that if another website (in the same business as yours) has SEO work done that your SEO expert will know before you do…and does something about it!

A good SEO will keep an eye on your competition, check their optimization and know if they are just another website that will fall into oblivion or something you should be aware of and perhaps need to take action on.

Getting visitors to your website is relatively easy, but getting visitors that want to buy your service or product is a lot harder.
